Tom Adams is Bridgestone Europe's new director of replacement sales for the Consumer business unit. The former West Europe Region Consumer business unit director began in the position on 1 July, and in this Brussels-based role Adams will report to Jake Rønsholt, managing director of the Consumer business unit.
It is little over a year since Davanti's launch at the Autopromotec show, and within this short space of time the brand has gained a foothold in the UK and Irish tyre markets. Now the team behind Davanti have their sights on Europe, and to help establish the brand there have appointed Michael Eckert Davanti's European sales director.
Two of Continental's non-tyre businesses have new leaders. The Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) business unit, part of the Continental Powertrain division, is headed by Rudolph Stark, while the Stephan Rebhan takes over Stark's former position as head of the Transmission business unit, which also belongs to the Powertrain division. Both changes are effective immediately.
Florin Popescu has been appointed director of sales for Goodyear Dunlop's business in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. He brings over a decade of experience at Goodyear Dunlop Tires Romania into his new role; Popescu joined the company as an area sales manager in October 2003, and served as truck tyre manager and commercial tyre manager for the Romanian and Bulgarian markets before being appointed commercial tyre manager for Romania, Bulgaria and Moldavia in January 2014.
Cornelia Tietz is the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers' Association's new director for EHS and Climate Action. In this role, Tietz will primarily focus on tasks and topics related to energy, climate change, health and safety and the environment. She joins ETRMA after seven years at ReachCentrum and four at Cefic, where she was responsible both for coordination of different groups and in charge of carrying out analysis of regulatory developments in the chemical industry.
A week ago we reported Bridgestone's plan to roll its First Stop tyre retail operation in Germany into a joint venture, with a 75 per cent share in this operation to be acquired by independent retailer Pneuhage. News of this pending ownership restructure has been accompanied by a change in leadership of the national First Stop network, however the two events are not related. Frank Fuhrmann, who held the post of managing director for First Stop in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland since 1 September 2015, has been succeeded in this role by Daniel Giroud, Bridgestone Europe's vice-president of retail operations.
In addition to his tyre businesses, which come under the Zenises banner, Harjeev Kandhari has taken on an additional non-executive chairman role at Walpole Capital, a venture capital firm based in London.
TRA elects John Bramwell president
The Tyre Recovery Association elected John Bramwell as its new president following the retirement of the previous incumbent, Mike Wilson. Bramwell is operations director at Conica in Newark. He has been at the sharp end of the tyre recovery for 15 years, both on the recycling of truck tyres and the supply of rubber granules for numerous applications, predominantly the sport and recreation markets.
The new Bridgestone Americas Service Operations Center (BASOC) will be located in the Antioch area of Davidson County and open in the first quarter of 2017; the facility is being set up to support Bridgestone's IT, Customer Service and Shared Business Service departments and will host some 450 employees and contractors.
Sales Manager - North Area: Northern England, Scotland & Ireland
Salary: An attractive package including company car, pension and life & disability insurance will be offered to the successful candidate.  
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a role that can be managed from home, and will involve frequent & regular travel in order to fully develop the territory and manage two external and 6 internal sales staff.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have a proven track record in negotiating at the highest level, excellent territory and man management skills, good time management and planning skills. Experience in the tyre industry is essential and the role will require the candidate to be capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Business Development Manager (East Europe) Passenger Car and Truck Tyres
Focusing on Eastern Europe, the role requires the selected individual to identify specific product development needs and to establish sales and marketing requirements by region and by country.  The role will also be strongly dominated by the account management and development of key distributor partners.  A clear focus will be on the development of the truck tyre segment, with specific identification, liaison and partnership development with large fleet operators and original equipment manufacturers.
