2023 marks 75 years of business for

Jay-Cee Sales and Rivet Inc.

In 1948, Jack Clinton founded the company in Detroit at 51 years of age. It began as an Army/Navy surplus store that sold various basic goods, along with a limited supply of fasteners like nuts, bolts, screws, and of course, rivets. Shortly after opening, Jack’s son Louis joined the company in his early twenties.

Rivet Nuts and Threaded Inserts

Rivet nuts, also referred to as threaded inserts, combine the strength and durability of steel with the ease of installation and use that a rivet nut provides. Simply insert a steel rivet nut through predrilled holes in your workpiece(s), insert a screw or bolt, and tighten for a sturdy, reliable connection.

Jay-Cee Sales & Rivet stocks steel threaded inserts in a variety of sizes and configurations. Whatever your application may be, we’re sure to have the right rivet nuts for the job. Follow the links below to find the rivet nuts you need, request a quote, or contact us to learn more.

Solid Rivets

Semi-Tubular Rivets

Solid rivets are among the simplest, most reliable, and oldest types of fasteners. Perhaps the most widely-used style of rivet, solid rivets are utilized in applications where reliability and safety are important.

Jay-Cee Sales & Rivet stocks a huge selection of solid rivets. We offer rivets in a range of sizes and materials to meet the needs of your fastener application.

Semi-tubular rivets (also known as tubular rivets) are essentially the same as solid rivets, but with a shallow hole at the tip, opposite the head. This hole causes the tubular portion of the rivet (around the hole) to roll outward when force is applied. This reduces the amount of force needed for installation—tubular rivets require roughly ¼ the force of solid rivets.

Semi-tubular rivets are often the preferred rivet style for joints where movement is required (pivot points), because the rivet material only swells at the tail. Common applications for tubular rivets include light fixtures, HVAC ducts, electronics, ladders, and brakes, among many others.
