Welcome to February! 2020 marks our 75th Anniversary and we can't wait for all the great events, athletics, programming and field trips.

Camp will run from June 22nd - August 14th. We are excited to offer surfing, sailing, fishing, tennis, beach and pool trips, field trips to NISHA, Sea Pony Farm, and th e Atheneum , and so much more. W hat's Happening
Art Room - Doodle Dash, Drama Matters, Fine Arts
Some of our members pointing our their doodles!  All d oodles are displayed in the downstairs hallways.  Come check it out! 


Our Drama Matters club rehearsing and writing lines for their play  "The Day the Crayons Came Home". Our cast will perform this play on Friday, April 3rd here at the Club so mark your calendars!

Members of our National Fine Arts Club with their Chinese New Year dragon - made from cardboard boxes and other crafts from scratch!  

Learning Center - Power Hour, BookNook, Robotics


Power Hour is our Homework Club and takes place Monday through Thursday from 2:30-4:00. We love that our members can have a great time doing their homework! 


BookNook is our fantastic reading program and takes place  Monday through Thursday from 4-5 PM. V isit Danny in the Learning Center or send an email to  [email protected]  to learn more! 


The LEGO Robotics program is currently looking for members 3rd  grade and up to participate and learn the ins and outs of programming a robot! Robotics is held on Thursday afternoons at 5 PM and every other Saturday from 11:00-12:00 PM. 
 
Our National Photography Program
Photo Club has been working hard to develop a great news show, which they practice weekly at the club. Auditions for anchors, weatherperson, and camera person are in the works. Weekly field trips across the island have resulted in beautiful photos that are developed and printed in our Computer Lab. Stay tuned for more!

Teen Nights + Slam Dunk Contest

February will bring ping pong, the annual Ski Trip to Wachusett Mountain, and a SAFEE Group meeting.  On Saturday, February 8th , we will host a Slam Dunk Competition for  8th  graders and up! Registration will begin at 7 PM and the competition will begin at 8 PM. 7 th  graders and below may watch the competition if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We also have additional basketball leagues for our teen members - the JRNBA league for 7th-8th grade and the Euro League for 8th grade and up. Check out our website

Junior Chefs - So much delicious food!

Our Junior Chefs won the last Junior Chefs vs. Junior Bakers Bakeoff with their BLUE Velvet Cupcakes. Congratulations guys! They were delicious! 

Field Trips: Sea Pony Farm & Kids on Ice



The next Sea Pony Farm field trip will be on Thursday, February 13th  from 2:45-4:00 PM. 

Don't forget about Kids on Ice field trips to the rink - every Thursday from 2:45-4:00 PM. Signed permission slips are a requirement for member participation.
Athletics

Our 3rd/4th grade travel team is off to the Finals! These boys are undefeated and we love that all their hard work is paying off. If you see any of them before February 8th, make sure to wish them luck. 

Our 5th/6th grade boys travel team finished the season 9-3, losing a tough playoff game in early February. They will continue to play in the JRNBA league and in a tournament in March. Keep up the good work guys!

We are also in the middle of the Futsal Soccer League. Our kids play on Fridays and Saturdays. Come check it out!
