77 Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Project update: January 2, 2023

Project Overview

The City of Miami Beach will continue the rehabilitation work on the 77 Street Bridge, ensuring the bridge's safety, reliability and lifespan.


What's Happening

Located between Hawthorne Avenue and Tatum Waterway Drive, the project includes enhancements to the bridge's deck, superstructure and substructure, pile jacket and object markers installation, concrete repairs, expansion joints, paver, metal railing, light pole replacements and curb and barrier reconstruction.


Timeline

Work will recommence on the week of January 15, 2024. Working hours will be from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday.


What to Expect

  • Beginning January 16, 2024, and throughout the construction, there will be temporary lane closures and detours during construction on 77 Street. Please heed the posted signage and use the detour at 85 Street.
  • Flagmen may be present during working hours. 
  • 7 parking spots on Bayside Lane, south of 77 Street, will be unavailable.
  • Sidewalk detours will be in place during construction, Please heed the posted signage.
  • Moderate levels of construction noise are expected during the day.
  • Construction materials, machinery, vehicles, and personnel will be on site.
