System for Award Management

reports delays

The System for Award Management (sam.gov) is reporting significant delays in entity registration, particularly with address and legal business name validation. If your registration in SAM is due for renewal, we recommend starting the process earlier than usual — possibly even 12 weeks ahead of time. (The same holds true for new sam.gov registrations.)

Some third-party vendors are seeking to take advantage of this situation. But the process is no more complicated than it has been in the past – so you don’t need professional help to complete. It is simply taking longer

than normal, so plan accordingly.

If you run into any difficulties, it would be best to reach out to your local PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center). PTACs do not charge for their services and can help you with the SAM process.

Phase III SBIR awards.

SBIR Phase III remains underserved and currently there is no common contract vehicle or methodology to efficiently bring SBIR III contractors to the government-wide acquisition community. That’s why the General Services Agency (GSA) will be traveling to various locations around the country to speak to industry partners involved in the SBIR community. Make sure your voice is heard.
