Dear 7th Grade Families,

On Wednesday, February 4, the seventh grade is going on a field trip to the HMS Medscience program. In 7th grade science, students have been studying the human body, most recently the respiratory system. At HMS, students problem-solve as medical diagnosticians by interacting with a lifelike robot in the medical simulation lab and performing an intubation. We’re excited about these hands-on experiences that will broaden their understanding of the human body and medical interventions.

Parents/caregivers, please complete the electronic 2025-2026 MEDSCIENCE PARENTAL CONSENT AND PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE FORM by the end of this week. It will ask for the visit date (02/04/2026) and the time (9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.).

Field trip details

  • Students will miss most of their classes on Wednesday. They will be back on campus for lunch and go to their classes around 1:00 p.m.
  • Beaver field trips do not involve any shopping. Your child does not need to bring any money on this trip.
  • Below is an important note from the school nurse, Talia Ossowski, regarding field trip medical information.
  • The HMS Medscience program works out of a space used for student programs, and for working with older students and adults; it's important that we are respectful of the space and the community members who use it. As with all field trips, we expect everyone to be on their best behavior.

If you have any questions, please contact me.
