With heavy hearts, and minds turned to resurrection, we share the news that Nan King died Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.
On Sunday, Nan was taken from her home, where she lived independently, to the hospital. She died before midnight Monday.
Age 98 at the time of her death, she had been a member of St. James longer than any other living parishioner. Baptized in 1933 and confirmed in 1948, she was a mentor to many rectors and an inspiration to many. She was a faithful member of the Daughters of the King.
No service is planned in accordance with Nan's wishes.
Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend
your servant Nan. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you,
a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock,
a sinner of your own redeeming.
Receive her into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace,
and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
