Volunteers Needed for Worship Technology

We are looking for volunteers to help run the PowerPoint presentations and sound system during our worship services. No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided. For more information about what is involved or to volunteer, please email Steven C Anderson. Your assistance helps make our worship services run smoothly and is greatly appreciated!

Coming Up in Worship

Closing out the 2026 Music on the Lawn series is "Good News Big Band" featuring WBLUMC's own New Crossings drummer, Andy Artz. Get ready to swing to the sounds of this Minneapolis-based jazz orchestra under the direction of Sam Graber...it's always a good time with Good News! Faith in Action will be selling concessions at this concert to benefit WBLHS Black Student Union!

You'll see amazing bugs up close, learn incredible facts, and maybe even have the chance to hold one! Children will be dismissed at 10am worship after the Children's Sermon. This WBLUMC favorite is fun for kids and anyone curious about God's amazing creation. Don't miss it!

Do you love books and reading? If so, you are warmly invited to come and join us at Book Club this year. All church members and friends are welcome!

We will be meeting as a mixture of both Zoom and in person attendance. You can choose whichever form you prefer and can of course change at any time from one to the other. We meet in room 200.

You do not have to commit to the whole year of reading; feel free to join us for any of the discussions. But once you come, you may find that all this year’s selections sound good. Hope to see you there in September. Click the book cover for the full reading list with dates and reviews adapted from Amazon Reviews. Email Rick Flynn with any questions or to obtain the zoom link!

Farewell & Thank You Renee:

As many of you know, our wonderful office and communications manager, Renee, is leaving us to take an exciting new professional position. Renee's last day with us will be August 27. While we are sad to see her go, we want to celebrate her incredible service and send her off with our prayers and blessings.

Renee’s dedication and efficiency have truly been the backbone of our church office. Every single day, she has managed to keep so many balls in the air at once, keeping our operations running smoothly and ensuring no detail was ever missed.

More than that, Renee brought a beautiful warmth to our church home. We will all deeply miss her welcoming smile greeting us whenever we walk through the doors. She has also been a true blessing to our church volunteers, always stepping in with patience to help them find the answer to every question.

Please join us in thanking Renee for her outstanding service. We wish her the absolute best of luck and abundant blessings in her new position!

Green Team Tip of the Month - August

Green Team Composting Event—August 23

Good news: Curbside pick-up of food scraps and compostables is now available in most of our area communities! You simply place your green food scrap bags in your regular garbage bin. Let us help you get going on this important and easy task. For such little effort you can feel good about the positive impact you're making on our city, state, and world!

After church on August 23, stop by Fellowship Hall to pick up everything you need to get started with food scrap recycling, including a food scrap container, compostable bags, and helpful information.

In Washington County, these containers normally must be picked up at an Environmental Center on designated dates after pre-registering. This special distribution at church makes it easy to get started without that extra step.

Green Team members will be available to answer your questions. We hope to see you there!

Learn more about the Green Team by attending a meeting!

We are off for August and meet on Tues., Sept. 1 at 7pm in room 200. In October, we will then move back to the first Monday of each month at 7pm in room 200. See the church calendar for updates.
