New Student Information System: TeacherEase
New this year, CCSD93 is introducing TeacherEase as our student information system, replacing PowerSchool. All former PowerSchool login information is no longer relevant.

TeacherEase will provide an improved experience for parents to track their students’ progress throughout the school year. Middle school families were provided login information before the start of the school year to see their child’s schedule, while elementary families will be provided login information after the first few weeks of school. At that time, all elementary and middle school families will receive a message about how to track their child’s learning progress and more with TeacherEase.

Please note, when you log in, you may see Common Goal or School Insight branding. These are all part of the same system as TeacherEase.
Parent Handbook & District Calendar Sent Home 8/19
On Thursday of this week, students were sent home with a physical copy of the District’s Parent Handbook, which describes CCSD93’s programs, services and more. You can always find it online at www.ccsd93.com/handbook, and the online version will always be most up-to-date.

Students were also provided the District-Wide Events Calendar. As this school year progresses, please be sure to double check event dates on your school’s online calendar, which can be found on school websites.
CCSD93's Bus Provider Seeking Drivers
back-school-bus.jpg
As I shared with you this week, there is a national shortage of bus drivers. Late last week, 16 drivers for our bus service provider, First Student, resigned. While we continue to collaborate with First Student on ways to improve the student transportation experience, please review or share the following if you or anyone you know would be interested in driving a bus for CCSD93 students.
  • Starting pay is $21.00 per hour.
  • You may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of $2,500-$3,000.
  • First Student provides all necessary training and certification.
  • Drivers would be guaranteed to only drive CCSD93 routes if desired, or they may choose to work additional hours for other districts.
  • Interested individuals are invited to apply here.
  • If you have additional questions you can contact First Student directly at 331-256-7526.
Please review the following articles for even more from CCSD93, and have an excellent weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. David H. Hill
Superintendent of Schools

Upcoming iReady Assessments
CCSD93 students take iReady diagnostic assessments in math and reading during specific windows of time throughout the school year. These assessments help teachers better understand what students know and what they need to learn. The results are used to create a personalized path of learning lessons and activities for students.

These adaptive assessments adjust their questions based on student responses. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. With this assessment model, students will experience some questions that are easier for them to answer and some that are more difficult. While all students are encouraged to do their best, iReady is meant to help determine a student’s current knowledge level and is not an assessment for which students should study.

Here are the upcoming iReady windows, which start as early as next week. Teachers schedule time within these dates to administer the assessment to students:
  • 1st-8th grade iReady math diagnostic: August 23-September 10
  • 1st-8th grade iReady reading diagnostic: September 7-22
  • Kindergarten iReady math diagnostic: September 27-October 15
