Dear Family Members,
Pickering Manor continues to be dedicated to the health, safety, and welfare of our residents. We promised all of you from the beginning a commitment of honesty and communication.
This letter is to alert you that we learned today that one of our staff members tested positive for COVID-19. We are actively monitoring our residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are working with our local and state health departments.
All of our staff continue to follow public health recommendations to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. These include strict handwashing procedures, and in many circumstances wearing facemasks, gowns, and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick.
As per the Department of Health policy, we must now revert back to fully restricting all visitation. This will also include restricting communal dining and activities. These restrictions will be in place until all tests are negative.
All residents and staff will be tested on Monday, 8/24. We are hopeful that we will have the test results back to us within 1-2 days. We are hopeful that we will have negative results for all, but should there be any positives among the tests, we will continue testing weekly until all results are negative as per the Department of Health guidelines.
We understand the toll this has taken on all of you and our residents. We will continue to keep you informed and assure you that we will communicate to you the overall results of the testing and the resumption of visits and activities.
In the meanwhile, should you have any questions, please contact either of us at any time.
Thanking you for your patience and understanding,
Michelle
