The $128M Joint Public Fire and Police Training Academy, going up in the former train yard at 4301 W. Chicago Avenue, is moving toward completion in 2023.  In addition to administrative offices, classrooms, and an auditorium, the campus boasts a city block village with a six-story burn tower and (see left) installations for car crash and rescue simulations.

Social Saturdays debuted last month in Logan Square - with a varied menu of food and live music in a new plaza at 2420 Sacramento Avenue.  Sandwiched between the railroad tracks and Target, the plaza has room for over ten trucks, including kiosks hosted by several local restaurants - the best of both worlds covered from 4 to 9 PM on Saturdays until October 29th.
