Lord Jesus, teach me to be humble and to serve others the way You did. Through Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven, guide me in Your ways each day. Help me to not look for recognition or praise, but to find joy in serving You and those around me. May everything I think, say and do bring glory to You always. Amen.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

Dear Parents,

During this month of August, we have been reflecting on the virtue of kindness. Throughout the month, we have spent time reflecting on the small actions that can help us grow in the virtue of kindness. We discussed how simple acts like holding the door for someone, sharing, and asking how someone is doing, can all be ways to develop this important virtue.

This month, our saint who exemplified this virtue is St. Veronica. As Jesus was carrying his cross, St. Veronica saw Jesus' pain. She could not take away His pain, but when she wiped the face of Jesus with her veil, she provided Him a little comfort even as He continued to suffer. Her example reminds us that our acts of kindness do not always remove the challenges others face, but they can ease the journey and help people know they are not alone. Through both joyful and difficult moments, kindness allows us to walk together in faith and compassion.

Dear Jesus, help me to notice the needs of others today. I am often caught up in my own thoughts and only pay attention to what I need. Help me to be more aware of others and grant me the desire to help them if they need me. Amen.

Today, we look forward to seeing our middle school families at the Back to School Night. The evening begins at 6:00 pm in the gym. Tomorrow, we will share the slides from the Back to School Night with families via email.

I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Mason, who has joined our faculty. Mrs. Rodriguez has resigned for personal reasons, and I invite you to join me in praying for her and her family during this time. Mrs. Mason has served our school community as a substitute teacher for several years, and we are excited to welcome her to her new role as a member of our faculty.

God Bless,

Erin Vu

Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM)

All persons who engage in ministry in the Diocese of Austin (clergy, religious, employees, and lay volunteers) must complete the EIM registration and training through VIRTUS® Online in order to serve in ministry. New applicants, and existing applicants who have never attended an EIM Workshop, must attend an in-person EIM Workshop to fulfill their initial EIM compliance requirement. Please visit https://www.austindiocese.org/eim-instructions for more information. If you are a new applicant who has submitted an EIM Application and need to attend an EIM Workshop, contact your parish/school EIM site administrator regarding the status of an in-person EIM Workshop at your location.

All volunteers must wear EIM name badges to indicate they are volunteers with Holy Family Catholic School. Once you have completed the EIM workshop, please contact Dr. Danna Kelemen for a new or replacement badge, or if you have any questions regarding EIM compliance.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community and children safe.
