Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Celebrating Superhero Students with the Carol Stream Police Department!
Student and staff safety and security is CCSD93's highest priority. We've long valued our partnerships with our community police departments as a key components to maintaining the safest possible learning environments.

Today, I had the pleasure of joining members of the Carol Stream Police Department to give away uniquely designed and packaged Shoes for SuperHeroes to 38 specially chosen superhero students at Cloverdale and Western Trails elementary schools! The shoes, which were made available thanks to the Unity Partnership and the shoe brand Super Heroic, came in superhero themed canisters complete with a cape string backpack.
CCSD93 Resource Officer Castro, of the Carol Stream Police Department, spoke with students from both schools about how they're superheroes for making positive choices every day, and how they can rely on our community's police officers to help them continue to be superheroes. It was a terrific way to build positive relationships between students and our police officers. In the coming weeks, we'll continue to collaborate with the Carol Stream Police Department to give away shoes to even more superhero students at the rest of our elementary schools. I'm so grateful to be a part of a community that is so supportive and caring of its children.

Here are a few pictures from today, and you can view the video linked below for even more on the events!

CCSD93 Awarded for Financial Reporting
CCSD93 recently earned the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International for the 32nd consecutive time! This means that the District's Annual Financial Report for each of the past 32 years, including 2018, has met or exceeded extremely high standards for financial reporting and accountability.

While our community may not see our Business Department's staff as often as our other educators, they're just as integral at helping CCSD93 achieve the Strategic Goals set forth in its Strategic Plan. Thanks to their work appropriately allocating resources, CCSD93 is able to:
  1. Provide a relevant education to all students,
  2. Employ engaged and connected employees,
  3. Achieve operational excellence,
  4. And provide optimal learning environments for our community's students.
We invite you to get to know a little about CCSD93's new Assistant Superintendent for Business Services John Benedetti, the leader of our Business Department, in the latest installment of CCSD93 in 93 Seconds by viewing the video below!

Attend FREE Parent Parent Presentation with Glenbard Parent Series on 9/5
Glenbard Parent Series (GPS) is an ongoing series of workshops and presentations geared toward helping adults navigate parenthood in modern times. They consistently feature nationally and internationally renowned speakers who provide insight into various aspects of what adolescent and teenage students encounter daily and advice for helping parents guide their children. They're terrific resources for our community, and even though it has Glenbard in its name, CCSD93 parents with or without students in high school absolutely are invited to attend. The following presentation will occur next week.
  • At 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 5 at Glenbard West High School, author David Grann will discuss his book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
