I want to take a moment to remind parents about an additional, free mental health assistance tool that CCSD93 has in place through our partners at Referral GPS. If you, your child, or another loved one are looking for assistance with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, grief, eating disorders, or other mental health concerns, you are invited to use the interactive tool at referralgps.com/find-help/CCSD93 to find a list of nearby providers that specialize in what you are looking for.
It’s free and confidential for CCSD93 families, staff and community members to use. You can quickly and easily filter by mental health concern, clinician gender and specialty, your best time of day to meet, online or in-person care, location, insurance acceptance and more. There are options for all types of private and public insurance options including PPO, HMO, Medicaid, and families that are underinsured or uninsured. Find out more at www.ccsd93.com/mentalhealth.

Obey Traffic Laws Near Schools & Buses
|
Student safety is CCSD93’s primary concern. We've seen an increase in unsafe driving practices near our school and school buses in recent school years. For the safety of all of our students, all parents and other motorists driving near our school and school buses MUST:
- Remain attentive and NOT use cell phones or personal devices while driving
- Reduce speed to 20 mph when driving near a school between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Follow traffic patterns
- Obey crossing guards
- STOP when the stop sign arm of a school bus has been extended; to clarify, this means:
- When traveling on two lane roadway with cars traveling in both directions, ALL CARS MUST STOP
- When traveling on a one-way roadway, regardless of the number of lanes, ALL CARS MUST STOP
- When traveling on four or more lane roadway with cars traveling in both directions, cars traveling in the same direction as the bus must stop
- When in doubt, STOP
-
For more information on driving near school buses, view this document from the Illinois State Police website
Please take a moment to consider your driving practices near our school and buses and adjust your habits if necessary. Drivers who are observed by police participating in any of these unsafe practices will be pulled over and ticketed. I know that we are all very busy, and this can impact our driving habits, but the safety of our students must be our priority.

Attend Your Child's School Curriculum Night
Every CCSD93 school holds a Curriculum Night to help parents become more acquainted with their child's education and this school year. Mark your calendar for the following!
- Elementary Schools - Wednesday September 4, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
- Early Childhood Center - Wednesday, September 11, 6:00-7 p.m.
Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend. The event is intended for parents/guardians only. Note, last week's edition of Enews I incorrectly indicated the opposite. My apologies.
Watch for more information from your child’s school as you may be asked to attend during a specific portion of the Curriculum Night.

CCSD93 Temporary Fax Numbers Up & Running
CCSD93 has had to create temporary fax numbers to be used for the time being due to an issue related with our standard fax numbers. If your child’s doctor’s office, or any other entity like your child’s previous school, needs to fax something to the school, please have them reach out to the school office for the temporary fax number. The temporary numbers are not being published publicly at this point because of their short-term use. I will include an update here when the standard numbers are restored.

Meanwhile, Cloverdale hosted a Minute to Win-It experience where students and staff competed in a number of thrilling challenges.
Parents are encouraged to connect with their children in the coming weeks to find out about their school’s PBIS assembly!
