Health and Wellness
Think Twice about following food trends

Instead of focusing on a few healthy foods to eat, it’s much better to have a healthy eating philosophy that guides your decisions when planning meals, grocery shopping, or going out to eat.

Student Spotlight: Clark

Clark said, "It’s probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I’m very thankful for my ability to go there. I feel blessed and honored to have attended HCC. I tried to make the most of my time, and it really paid off. I’m doing good.”

Fueling Dragons Spotlight: Food Pantry
As more students return to campus the need to help fight food insecurity will increase. The campus food pantry provides access to nutritious food and personal care items and is open to only Howard Community College students. Help restock HCC's food pantry by bringing a canned food item to Thursday's training at Feet First or on race day.
Organizations are also invited to host food drives or donation drives to support the food pantry. For more information, contact pantry@howardcc.edu or learn more about the Fueling Dragons program HERE.
Sponsor Spotlight: Havtech

After naming a space in the Science, Engineering, and Technology Building, Havtech steadily increased their giving each year and, in 2018, became the presenting sponsor of the HCC 5K Challenge Race. When asked about sponsoring the event, Roetering said, “Our employees really enjoy the race, and we get to network with a lot of people in our community, many of whom we work with in some fashion. Plus, it fits our company’s focus on wellness.”
