The Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta is pleased to offer a one-day course on water & wastewater treatment. Topics of discussion will include basic application of water, water quality, water chemistry and laboratory measurement methods. Specifically, water and wastewater issues for the oil and gas industry will be addressed.

Speaker Bio: Margaret-Ann Armour, BSc, MSc
Margaret-Ann Armour was educated at the University of Edinburgh, (BSc, MSc) and the University of Alberta (PhD) and joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Alberta in 1979. Her research was into the handling and disposal of small quantities of hazardous chemical waste. Since 2005, she has been Associate Dean of Science, Diversity.

Consider an exciting opportunity to help your Association by serving as a member of the ACPA Board of Directors. Four director positions are available.
Any nominations from the membership must be received at the ACPA office by March 21, 2018, together with the written consent of the nominee, who must be a member in good standing. Each nomination must be signed by at least three (3) members in good standing. The three sponsoring members may fax, mail or e-mail separate copies of the nomination sheet with their signature and the name of the nominee, if they cannot all sign a single copy.
Election ballots will be issued by April 5, 2018.The new Board will be introduced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 5, 2018.

ACPA PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FOR CHEMISTS
|
This short, one-day course will provide an introduction to the ethical framework that guides professional chemists in the conduct of their duties. The course focuses on solving practical issues that arise in professional practice. After a full morning of presentations by two instructors, Nils Petersen and Kathy Janzen, and several case studies examining issues that arise in everyday work situations, an examination based on a case study is given at the end of the day. Candidates that pass the exam will receive an Ethics certificate. A
