Managed by Every Child a Reader, an award-winning literacy charity, Get Caught Reading provides teachers, librarians, and booksellers free bulletin-board-sized posters of inspiring community leaders, authors, artists, athletes, and beloved book characters reading a favorite book.

JOON LEE

Joon Lee is a media personality covering sports and culture. His work has been seen on ESPN, Bleacher Report, and The Washington Post. As a first-generation American, Joon became inspired to pursue a career in media by reading about the Red Sox and his childhood heroes, like Tom Brady, Jackie Robinson, and Bill Russell. When he’s not reading, he can be caught rooting for the Boston sports teams, eating a hamburger, or listening to BTS.

ANGELA MEDINA

Angela Medina has dedicated more than 20 years in the nonprofit field. As an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and nonprofit management, she currently serves as the Executive Director of the Jane Addams Peace Association. The Peace Association awards outstanding children’s books promoting peace, social justice, and equity. Additionally, their “Books in their Hands” program facilitates author interactions and donates acclaimed titles to low-income schools nationwide. 

ERIN NAPIER

Erin Napier is a designer, author, and entrepreneur. Along with her husband, Ben Napier, she is the co-host of HGTV’s Home Town, co-author of Make Something Good Today and founding co-owner of their stores Laurel Mercantile Co. and Scotsman General Store & Woodshop. Her first book for children, The Lantern House, was a New York Times bestseller. She lives in Laurel, Mississippi and she invites you to learn more at www.erinandben.co. 

JESSAMYN STANLEY

Jessamyn Stanley is an internationally acclaimed voice in wellness, highly sought after for her insights on 21st-century yoga and intersectional identity. She is the founder of The Underbelly, a streaming wellness app and community, cohost of the podcast Dear Jessamyn, and cofounder of We Go High, a North Carolina–based cannabis justice initiative. She is a regular contributor to SELF magazine, has been featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan (UK), and covered in the New York Times, Vogue, Glamour, and Sports Illustrated among many other domestic and international media outlets. She is also the author of Yoke: My Yoga of Self-Acceptance (Workman, 2021) and Every Body Yoga: Let Go of Fear, Get on the Mat, Love your Body (Workman, 2017). 

DUNCAN TONATIUH

Duncan Tonatiuh is an award-winning author-illustrator. He is both Mexican and American. The illustrations in his books are influenced by Pre-Columbian art and the themes in his stories relate to the Latino experience, with subjects that include social justice issues, art, history, and immigration. His most recent book, A Land of Books: Dreams of Young Mexihcah Word Painters, pays tribute to Mesoamerican ingenuity and celebrates the universal power of books. NATHAN CHEN

Nathan Chen, 2022 Olympic Gold medalist, is a 23-year-old American figure skater. He is also a 3-time World Champion and 6-time U.S. Champion. At the 2017 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Nathan became the first man in figure skating history to land five quadruple jumps in a single performance, and is the first Asian-American male skater to win U.S., World, and Olympic titles. He began skat- ing at age three in his hometown of Salt Lake City. Nathan is currently a junior at Yale majoring in Statistics and Data Science, and is the author of two books: his memoir, One Jump at a Time, and a children’s book, Wei Skates On

NOAH VAN SCIVER

Noah Van Sciver has written and illustrated iconic comics for adults about Abraham Lincoln, Johnny Appleseed, and the Grateful Dead. In his first middle-grade graphic novel, Paul Bunyan: The Invention of an American Legend: A TOON Graphic, he set out to tell the real story of an American myth with co-author Marlena Myles. This book is bracketed by rich contributions from contemporary Native artists and storytellers with a very different connection to the land that the Bunyan myths often conceal. Noah himself is pictured, as drawn by himself, reading King Cat Classix by John Porcellino.
