a note from 8-koi headquarters :: autumn 2019
Team , looking back over the past decade and the growth that has taken place since 8-koi’s inception in 2008 is humbling. Our growth in community connections and engagement, employees, revenue, earned contracts and clients and acquiring Cape Design Engineering earlier this year in March is inspiring. It’s brought us to where we are today, adapting to change and strengthening our team as we continue to evolve and diversify our capabilities to meet and exceed client expectations.

Joining our team is Dean Rosenquist, 8-koi’s first chief operating officer. Dean will oversee the operations of our construction, healthcare, design engineering and technical services. His extensive experience integrating business operations, strategies, planning and procedures will play a pivotal role in maintaining momentum of 8-koi's growth. Dean will be working with human resources, contracts and procurement, finance, marketing, facilities security, and IT to ensure 8-koi is ready and able to quickly transition and perform on new contract awards. As the former senior vice president for Comprehensive Health Services, former chief operating officer for Craig Technologies and decades of service in the U.S. Air Force his background and previous experience will be an asset to our team and streamline 8-koi’s inner operations.

In addition to Dean's arrival, I'm pleased to announce the following promotions to help round out 8-koi's leadership team:

  • Elizabeth Berry is VP of our Healthcare Division, formerly Program Manager at Chenega Corp. Elizabeth will be working from San Antonio, TX.
  • Victor Diaz is VP of our Design Engineering Division, formerly Project Manager at Cape Design Engineering Co. Victor will be working from Merritt Island, FL.
  • Otto Herrera is VP of our Construction Division, formerly Project Manager at Cape Design Engineering Co. Otto will be working from Jacksonville, FL.

It’s already been said, and proven to be true, the only constant is change. This is an exciting time to be 8-koi and I’m thankful for your dedication that has made these advancements possible. Please help me welcome and congratulate Dean and our new leadership team. Say hello and let them know which piece of the puzzle you offer to make our big picture complete or how you support our work in progress.

I am passionate about 8-koi and the work we do. It’s my life. Truly, I enjoy each day. Thank you for taking this journey with me. As always, your feedback is welcome.

In partnership,
Inga

Appreciation for Joe Ogershok
Happy Birthday and Anniversary

Five years ago, Joe Ogershock became 8-koi’s first employee working on government contract. During his career at 8-koi he’s trained soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, U.S. Public Health Service personnel and Department of Defense civilians, including commanding generals and White House personnel. In one year alone Joe passed 875 trained personnel through his critical skills courses with 100% completion rate.

His life-saving skills extend beyond his day job. Joe volunteers as an EMT with Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company where he’s been recognized as a top ten responder for the last there years.

In short, Joe Ogershok is a highly-qualified life-saver who represents the 'human touch' of 8-koi's military healthcare training capabilities in the best possible way.
N ovember is Military Family Month

Since 1996, established by the Armed Services YMCA, Military Family Appreciation Month is about recognizing military families. Throughout the month military families are honored and recognized for their commitment and contribution in support of our military and nation. Hundreds of thousands of men and women are currently deployed overseas. Taking the time to reflect on our troops, military families and their daily and sometimes lifelong sacrifices evokes care and compassion for those who may need it most. For ways to participate in Military Family Month, read more here .

The U.S. Government is the largest company in the world. Approximately $1 billion in new opportunities in the services sector of government contracting are available to bid on by private business each day. A Small Business Set-Aside Program (SBSA) was developed to help assure that small businesses are awarded a fair portion of government contracts by reserving certain government purchases exclusively for small businesses.
