company updates from 8-koi :: autumn 2021
|
|
Thirteen years ago I started 8-koi to be different, to do better than others, and to offer an easier and more efficient option to the government. I knew what, but I had to learn how along the way. In this season of gratitude, I owe a great deal of thanks to those who have given their time, leant their expertise and allowed me to learn from what they found out the hard way. Because of the generosity of so many, I am honored to see 8-koi thriving as it is today.
I can only hope to share as much in return to help others find their own success. In observance of our 13-year Anniversary that we celebrated on August 8th, I tried to think about the most important lessons that have helped me throughout my entrepreneurial journey and want to make sure I pass them to you, along with a golden heap of appreciation.
With this perspective, I would love nothing more than to see 8-koi continue to grow and improve for at least another 13 years. In order to do this, I continue to seek out the wisdom of other experienced and gracious professionals in the industry, and am honored to welcome Rich Kube to our leadership team as VP of our Design Engineering Division who will help lead CDE. You can read more about Rich and his work with us below.
Finally, I'm thrilled to report that we purchased our new 8-koi headquarters building on September 15th. This is a huge step forward for us and was the result of several years planning and searching for the perfect space. Making our 20,000 square foot dream a reality could only be possible with the top-notch guidance and professional attention of our local real estate experts. Keep reading to see more about the plans to bring our team together under one roof.
Every season and every day we are given a chance to learn, grow and change. I'm looking ahead to see what this autumn brings to 8-koi, CDE, and all of you.
With abundant thanks,
|

Our New Headquarters Building Welcomes
People and Pets Alike!
|
|
8-koi's new corporate headquarters building on Florida's Space Coast is 20,000 SF on two acres, and is being prepped to welcome in our team from the 8-koi business office in Melbourne and, eventually, CDE's Merritt Island team.
Inga says, "We really wanted a building that reflected our unique corporate culture and located in an area that was easy to get to for most of our employees. Being close to the river with the outdoor space will, I hope, make our workplace very attractive for our employees to be comfortable and productive.”

World Mental Health Day is observed this month and we understand that our animal companions - our fur babies - are very important to us for emotional support and other health benefits. 8-koi is embracing a more pet-friendly workplace and is offering pet care insurance as part of our benefits package. To celebrate working towards better mental health for everyone, and all these happy fuzzy faces that make us feel better, we want to see your pets... Whether on the job, at home, or on the go, show us your pets.

The Department of Defense is requiring all contractors with the clause at Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.204-7012 in their contracts to conduct a self-assessment of NIST SP 800-171 standards and enter their results into the Supplier Performance Risk System by November 30, 2020. Contractors who have not entered their results by that deadline will not be eligible for an award on a contract containing DFARS 252.204-7012.
