Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Quality Reporting Program (QRP) Non-Compliance Letter

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires greater than 80% compliance for Minimum Data Set (MDS) completion of items impacting the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Reporting Program. Non-compliance will result in a 2% reduction of the FY 2020 Annual Payment Update (APU). Non-compliance notifications were sent by the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and placed into facilities’ Certification And Survey Provider Enhanced Reports (CASPER) folders in the Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) on July 16, 2019. Facilities that receive a letter of non-compliance may submit a request for reconsideration to the CMS within 30 days of the date on the letter received.
