Transforming Self: BodyMindSpirit
Thursday, May 23, 2024 | 7pm | EGV Library
As we continue our year of Be Transformed, we share this upcoming event at the Elk Grove Village Library:
“Are you happy when you look at yourself in the mirror and why?” The happiness in life is based on the whole person concept of the body, mind, and spirit transformed through the passage of time and life experiences. There is a difference between a human being as a noun phrase and being human as a verb phrase. This presentation will help you to understand the difference and get you started on the wellness path of happiness.

Be a Voice for Life
Assisted Suicide Legislation introduced in Illinois General Assembly. Discover more.
We asked and you answered! A total of 262 letterers were signed by OLBS parishioners (approximately 25% of Sunday Mass attendance) on May 19th, rejecting assisted suicide in Illinois. A hearty "thank you" from the Respect Life ministry for all those who took the time to sign letters to state senators Seth Lewis and Laura Murphy, and state representatives Jennifer Sanalitro and Michelle Mussman.
The letters were hand delivered to each representative's district office, asking them to oppose Senate Bill 3499 - the End-of-Life Options Act, which could come up for a vote before the end of the current legislative session.
Your act of commitment let's our elected officials know that every life should be respected - from beginning to end - and not be prematurely ended by artificial means.
Further updates on SB 3499 will be given should the bill move out of committee and come up for a vote.
Throughout May & June...Join us for Season for Life to raise awareness for a culture of life. See above for specific activities planned and together, let's be advocates for dignity, compassion and LIFE!
