Lutheran Services Carolinas is seeking students who would be interested in tutoring school-aged children in the Charleston refugee community.
Tutors would be matched with a family and provide academic assistance to the children from ages 5-17. Tutoring sessions can be completed in person or virtually, depending on the tutor's needs. Commitment would be approximately once a week for one semester, with an option to extend. Tutors would be required to complete a one-hour orientation. There is no experience required, but knowledge of a second language is a plus. Interested candidates should email ianderson@lscarolinas.net and mdowen@lscarolinas.net to request an application or ask additional questions.
