Thank You, Officer Castro!
Congratulations to Jay Stream Middle School Resource Officer Pablo Castro, who retired today after more than 12 years with CCSD93 and 24 years with the Carol Stream Police Department! During his tenure, Officer Castro significantly impacted students at all CCSD93 schools, either directly or indirectly, through DARE programs, contributions to safety drills and procedures, and a wide-range of community outreach. He built strong relationships and prioritized the wellbeing of our students every step of the way. On behalf of CCSD93, I am incredibly grateful for his dedication and wish him the best in the next phase of his career!
Jayhawk & Stallion Band Members Learn from Marching Panthers!
Recently, 7th and 8th grade band students from both CCSD93 middle schools were invited to Glenbard North to rehearse with the Panther Marching Band. Students enjoyed pizza and learned how to march in a basic block before attempting to march one of the sets to the 2024 Panther halftime show. After the demonstration CCSD93 students and parents were given a private preview of the Glenbard North halftime show featuring "Africa." It's terrific to see this kind of close collaboration between our students and their high school counterparts!
Please review the information below for more from CCSD93, and have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. David H. Hill
Superintendent of Schools

The supplies were purchased by the school’s PTA with assistance from funds provided by the D93 Kids Foundation, and included dozens of coloring books, mini water bottles, a bottle drying rack, flushable wet wipes, odor neutralizer, several pairs of shoes, and many extra sets of clothes in all sizes!
Cloverdale 2nd Graders Learn to Stretch Their Money
Today, 2nd graders in Mrs. Silwa's class at Cloverdale learned and applied valuable economic and financial literacy skills, creating the best party ever by maximizing an imaginary $20 budget. Each group selected from a menu of differently priced food, drinks, supplies, and games and then visited the 'store' to complete their purchases. This fun and practical activity met key math and social studies standards.
