Sea Pines CSA Community Update

North Sea Pines Drive Phase 2 Roadway Reconstruction Work Begins |
|
- Tree work along North Sea Pines Drive began Wednesday, September 15th.
- Drainage work in proximity to Red Cardinal Road will begin the week of September 20th.
- Work will be performed Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm. Flag persons will be present to control traffic, as needed.
- Motorists should expect traffic delays. The project area is considered an active work zone. Please use caution while driving in this area. To avoid the project area, please use the main gate located on Greenwood Drive.
- Signage will be placed throughout the work zones and at various locations within the community, to communicate project messages.
- Please observe and obey all traffic management personnel, signage and devices.

- Topsoil grading has been completed (pictured here) and additional site prep will begin next week to ensure adequate drainage.
- Installation of irrigation and sod is scheduled to begin in two weeks, weather permitting.

Sea Pines CSA Maintenance Projects Around the Community |

Roadside Mulching
Roadside mulching will begin along Lighthouse Road the week of September 20th, weather permitting. Intermittent lane closures may be necessary and flagmen will be present to assist with traffic flow. Drivers should use caution in these designated work zones.

Leisure Trail Tree Trimming
Leisure trail tree trimming will occur next week near Greenwood Drive and Old Military Road. Then crews will continue working through the Heritage Woods area. Leisure trails will remain open and we ask that pedestrians and bikers proceed with caution and listen to the flagmen that will be present.

Stormwater Ditch Cleaning
Ditch cleanout in the area of 50 Heritage Road will begin the week of September 20th, weather permitting.

Roadway Repairs
Pothole repair is scheduled for September 13-15th throughout the community. Flag persons will be present to control traffic, as needed.

Tree Trimming
Tree trimming will take place around the community on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, weather permitting. Flag persons will be present as needed to control traffic.

Mosquito Treatment
Our next mosquito treatment will take place on Tuesday, September 21st during overnight hours, weather permitting.

Wildlife Notice: Bat found in Sea Pines Tests Positive for Rabies |
|
On September 11, 2021, a bat found near Lands End Road and Lands End Court in Sea Pines tested positive for the rabies virus. The rabid bat is now deceased.
Symptoms of Rabies in Animals Include: • Fatigue • Fever • Vomiting • Weakness • Not wanting to eat • Aggression • Difficulty walking, breathing or swallowing • Abnormal behavior
Due to the possibility of the spread of rabies, DHEC urges everyone to use caution when dealing with wild or stray animals. If you have reason to believe that you, someone you know, or your pets have come into contact with this bat or another animal that potentially has rabies, please call DHEC's Environmental Affairs Beaufort office at (843) 846-1030 during normal business hours (M-F, 8:30-5:00) or the DHEC after-hours service number at (888) 847-0902 (Select Option 2). Please ensure your pets have received and are up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations. For more information on rabies in South Carolina, visit SC DHEC’s website: https://www.scdhec.gov/rabies.
To report an animal that is exhibiting symptoms listed above, you are asked to immediately contact Sea Pines Security at 843-671-7170 and report a description of the animal and its location. Never handle any wild or stray animal, alive or dead, with your bare hands or attempt to capture the animal, an officer will be dispatched to investigate the report.

Sea Pines CSA Nominating Committee Seeks Community Feedback on Questions for Sea Pines CSA Board Candidates |
|
In preparation for the upcoming Sea Pines CSA Board of Director elections, the Class "A" Nominating Committee is asking Sea Pines Property Owners for their recommendation on candidate questions. The Class "A" Nominating Committee will review the questions submitted by the community and select questions to ask of all candidates. Each candidate will receive the same list of questions and be able to provide their written answers.
Recommendations on candidate questions will be collected from September 16th through September 27th and should be submitted to Stephanie Fera, Sea Pines CSA Communications Coordinator by email at sfera@csaseapines.com
As a reminder, the deadline to submit Nomination by Petition Forms for the Sea Pines CSA Board of Directors Election is Friday, October 1, 2021.

Are you a Sea Pines property owner interested in becoming more involved in the community? If so, we encourage you to apply for membership in a Sea Pines CSA Committee.
Click here to view the application. Completed committee member applications should be emailed to Sandra Archer at sandra@csaseapines.com or delivered to the Sea Pines CSA Administration office at 175 Greenwood Drive by December 1, 2021.
Please note- Currently seated Sea Pines CSA committee members do not need to submit an application to be considered for the same committee. Please contact your Committee Chair directly to notify them of your interest to serve again based on committee member term limits.

Land Use Rules and Regulations Property Appearance Reminders
- Trash cans and recycling bins shall be kept in service yards at all times. Curbside trash pickup is not provided in Sea Pines.
- Lawns shall be routinely cut and maintained to ensure grass height of 6 inches or less. Bushes shall be trimmed to maintain a neat appearance. Trees and palms shall be maintained in a manner to maintain a neat appearance. Bedded areas shall be kept clear of overgrowth. Vines shall be removed that threaten to encroach onto abutting properties, including CSA open space.

2021 Sea Pines Community Yard Sale Cancellation Notice
Due to lack of participation, The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation has made the decision to cancel the 2021 Community Yard Sale that was scheduled for 10/2/21. If you have turned in an application, you may retrieve it from the Sea Pines CSA Administration Office during normal business hours (M-F 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM). If you are unable to stop by the office, please contact David Henderson at 843.671.7827 or by email at wildlife@csaseapines.com.
