Families Together in New York State (FTNYS) is excited to announce a new development in our partnership with SUNY Empire State College. The Office of Academic Affairs will approve 12 credits to Youth Peer Advocates (YPAs) who earn a Professional Credential.

This partnership will increase access to education, simplify the admissions process, and provide those connected to FTNYS an opportunity to earn college credit for their professional and life experiences.

*Through SUNY Empire’s Corporate & Community Partnership Benefits Program, all enrolled Youth Peer Advocates have access to:

  • Associate, bachelor's and master's degrees
  • Affordable college tuition
  • $100 Better Together Scholarship and a waiver of the $50 orientation fee
  • A flexible learning model that fits around your busy schedule
  • An accelerated path to degree completion
  • College credit for previous learning, including the Youth Peer Advocate (YPA) credential and prior life experience
