This week's activities:

Sunday School, 9am, Youth Room (Room 11); Dive into the scriptures and discuss faith

Pumpkin Truck unload, 12:30pm - youth and families please help if you can!

Hi Youth Families! I hope you are doing well. I have been down with something like the flu for a couple of days this week but hope to be bouncing back soon.

For the month of October our focus will be split between having a successful pumpkin patch and other youth activities (see the Fall calendar below for all of our activities through December).

Just so everyone knows, we will make $1,000 donations to four of our nonprofit partners, fund many of our youth activities throughout the year and help with summer trips, and even fund some of the other ministries in the church through the pumpkin patch. Unloading the truck and selling pumpkins is fun and will earn you service hours for school, scouts, etc.

We have a manual of operations for the pumpkin patch and everything will be explained to you at the start of your first shift.

Youth families are asked to please try to work at least two shifts in the patch. This helps spread the work out and makes the month much more enjoyable for those who have to cover any shifts that aren't taken.

Thank you for your help! Let me know if you have any questions.

Pumpkin Patch 2024

Remember that the Pumpkin Patch helps keep our big youth conference trips affordable for youth families. Please help out as you are able.

There are two main ways to help:

-Unloading the pumpkin truck on Sunday, September 29 at 12:30pm and a 1/2 truck on Saturday, October 12 at 9am. We have found that many years the truck is late and sometimes even arrives on a different day, so I will send updates on the truck’s arrival through Remind. Join the Pumpkin Patch Remind by texting @pumpkins99 to the number 81010 or using this link: https://www.remind.com/join/pumpkins99 .

-Volunteering in the patch September 30 – October 31. Volunteers help sell pumpkins and keep the patch looking good for our guests. Here is the Signup Genius link to pick volunteer slots: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E45A8A82EAAFBC25-51212910-grace

Meals for the Eppes Family

Stump Eppes had an infection in his knee replacement and had to have that removed, will heal for a while, and then will have a new knee replacement. We want to support Stump, Elizabeth, and our own Carter (and Jackson when he's home from college) with a meal once a week. Here are some details on how to be helpful:

  • Email or call Jason, Ami, or Joanne to sign up for a week.
  • Bring food in containers that don't have to be returned.
  • Bring the food to the church and Joanne will deliver it or the family will pick it up. This will simplify drop-off and the family won't have to entertain guests. We can give you a door code so you can drop off any time. Label it "Eppes" so it doesn't get used for something else by mistake.
  • Let us know what questions you have, and thanks for your help!

The Fall Calendar:

It's here!!! Please be as supportive as you can with your attendance.

We can add events if there is something that comes up that really makes sense for us to do.

If your child or spouse is not getting these emails and it would be helpful for them to get them, please let me know and I'll add them to the list! Thanks! It is important that as many people as possible know what is going on with gYg!
