Calling all Women Founders or Co-founders!
WIB’s Entrepreneur Center is hosting our Third Annual Founders Showcase (BIO Convention San Diego – June 15, 2022)
The application process is open!
Women In Bio's Entrepreneur Center is currently accepting applications for women Founders and co-Founders to participate in our 3rd Annual Founders Innovation Showcase. This event is designed to provide start-up companies with the opportunity to engage prominent members of the investment community, venture groups, and strategic partners during the world's largest biotechnology partnering event, BIO 2022, in San Diego, California.
All applications and submitted materials will be screened by a diverse selection committee of industry experts and investors. Between 15 and 20 applicants will be chosen and featured in person* at the WIB Founders Innovation Showcase on June 15, 2022, in San Diego, where they will present a 5-minute pitch and participate in 5-minutes of Q&A with investors/stakeholders. As an added benefit, the Founders selected for the showcase will be offered mentoring and advice from industry experts after the showcase has concluded.
*Note: If you are unable to attend the BIO International Conference in person, we will be offering chosen applicants the opportunity to meet with investors/stakeholders remotely.
Application requirements:
- Female Founder or co-Founder and/or CEO
- Innovations in therapeutic or platform technology, diagnostics, or medical devices
- Raising Seed Round or Series A
- Located in the US or Canada
Applications for the Founders Showcase are due by March 21, 2022 and WIB will notify all applicants of their selection status by April 15, 2022. Regardless of selection to the final showcase, all who apply will receive help from Women In Bio to find additional resources to help grow their business. Application fees for those not selected for the showcase will not be refunded but can be used towards a WIB membership.

Young Women In Bio (YWIB)-Connecticut is partnering with Junior Achievement of Southern New England to showcase women in STEM to expand student knowledge of what career opportunities exist in bioscience. Our panelists represent various educational and career paths, ranging from MD, MBA, MPH, and PhD, with healthcare, biotech, and academia roles. This event is targeted for 9th through 12th graders at high schools across Connecticut.
