MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

June 9, 2025

With just nine session days remaining, lawmakers are considering a variety of bills that could impact businesses and their employees across our state. Several key issues like pay transparency, DNREC’s fee package, and the Pollution Accountability Act are scheduled for this week’s agenda, among others.

Tomorrow, HS 2 for HB 105 (pay transparency), is on the House agenda. Through our conversations with the bill sponsor, and based on discussions she’s had with others, the proposal has been amended considerably from its original form. As a result, the State Chamber has moved from opposing the bill to taking a neutral position.

On Wednesday at 4:00 pm, two bills of importance will be heard in the House Natural Resources and Energy Committee: HB 175, DNREC’s fee package, and HB 210, the Pollution Accountability Act. The State Chamber supports HB 175 and opposes HB 210.

It’s important to note that any pending legislation not defeated or enacted by June 30 will carry over to next year. In the remaining days of session, the State Chamber will continue its advocacy efforts—supporting smart reforms, opposing harmful mandates, and ensuring the voice of Delaware’s business community is heard. Stay tuned for updates on these and other issues as session draws to a close.
