As a follow up to the Colorado stay-at-home order and real estate being categorized as a “critical business,” we have put together a general guide for how the real estate community can handle business at this time. Making sure you comply with social distancing requirements and safety guidelines mandated by local and state officials is the priority.

VBR is not in a position to provide legal advice to its members. We encourage you if you have specific questions regarding a transaction or business practice to please work with your managing broker.

VBR’s general guide for REALTORS® Working During the COVID-19 Situation

  1. Make sure to study the CDC guidelines and advise your clients to abide by them.
  2. Follow Colorado’s stay-at-home order. If you do not have to conduct business, you should stay home.
  3. Stay in touch with your clients remotely using video conferencing software or by telephone.
  4. Utilize virtual tours and other technology so you can provide a service from the safety of your home.
  5. Create a plan on how you will be addressing showings with social distancing.
  6. Use your expertise and experience in providing advice that will help your clients make good decisions.
  7. Promote the REALTOR® brand and show how valuable and important you are in the process.
  8. Use the COVID-19 Addendum if you need it.
  9. Use this time to educate yourself and prepare for the future.

As leaders in our community, we must rise to the occasion and do our part to help stop the spread of this virus. Stay safe and stay healthy!
