Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

NORTH KOREANS TESTIFY ABOUT THE BIBLE'S POWER DURING CORONAVIRUS

Due to the Coronavirus, VOMK continues to distribute twice as many Bibles as last year to North Koreans. North Koreans are looking for hope in this time of pandemic, and they are finding it in the Bible. Here is a testimony from one person who received a Bible recently :

“We give thanks to those who are sending God’s love in this pandemic. Thank you for awakening us and understanding our situation. Every time we listen to the stories, we feel peaceful and too good.”

Voice of the Martyrs Korea supplies audio and printed North Korean dialect Bibles to North Koreans inside North Korea, as well as to North Korean laborers working abroad and North Korean sex trafficked women in China. If you would like to contribute to VOMK Bible distribution , click here . Please note “NK Bibles” in the comment section.

From the Foleys

Controversy surrounds the opening of the new Resurrection of Christ Church in Kubinka near Moscow. The cathedral, designed as the Armed Forces’ main church, is designed to hold 6,000 worshipers and features a military green color and missile-like towers. It was built at a cost of around 6 billion Rubles (roughly 100 billion Korean Won), which church representatives say is the most expensive church building project in modern Russian history.

Official opening of the cathedral, Russia’s third largest, was scheduled for May 9 in recognition of the 75th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the World War II but has been delayed due to the Coronavirus.

But according to Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley, it was what was not on display during a special inaugural prayer service that drew the most attention…

Prisoner Profile - Zhang Wen Shi

Deacon Jang, who is also known by his Chinese name Zhang Wen Shi, is an ethnically Korean Chinese citizen who was kidnapped in November 2014 from China and put in a North Korean prison. He is currently serving a 15-year sentence for his ministry to the North Korean people. Voice of the Martyrs Korea, in partnership with its Voice of the Martyrs sister missions in other countries, launched a letter writing campaign to the North Korean Ambassador to the United Nations advocating for Deacon Jang’s release. So far more than 1,000 letters have been sent from 15 countries.

South Korea (MNN) — Gospel workers in South Korea woke up this morning to a test: would they obey God or man? Last night, “The police contacted us because they know we’re going out for the rice bottle launch,” Voice of the Martyrs Korea CEO Pastor Eric Foley says.

Pastor Tim's Prayer Points
  • Praise – We have already distributed over 2,000 Sunday Schools in a Box all across China!

  • Pray for the distribution of each Sunday School in a box 2000 boxes have already been distributed, but 3,000 remain. These are currently being distributed all throughout China. The boxes are being received and distributed by different people and in different ways. The items included in each box may be slightly different based on what’s locally available. Please pray for every person that is involved in the active distribution.

  • Pray for Miss Park  (teenage NK defector that we shared the gospel with) and for other young North Korean defectors. Many of them, even those who have been Christians in North Korea, are easily swept away by the temptations of free society to pursue money, pleasure, and comfort. Not many young people are interested in enrolling in discipleship training schools like UT. Please pray for God to draw them to Him and for VOMK to have more opportunities to minister to them.
