Construction Update

Upcoming Activities

Weather permitting on Tuesday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m., a new signal mast arm will be installed for eastbound 9000 South at Redwood Road requiring the closure of the road for up to 10 minutes. Police officers will be directing traffic.

As early as Friday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, November 4 at 5:00 a.m., 1300 West across 9000 South will be closed while crews rebuild the intersection. Traffic on 1300 West will be allowed to turn right onto 9000 South along with 9000 South traffic being able to turn right onto 9000 South. No left turns will be allowed. Use Redwood Road as a detour route.

Weather permitting on Friday, November 15 starting at 10:00 p.m., the old traffic signals will be removed and new signals installed on the north side of 9000 South at 1510 West requiring the signals to be turned off. Short-term closures of the road are also expected lasting up to 30 minutes. Police officers will be directing traffic through 3:00 a.m.

Sidewalk replacement has started on the south side of 9000 South starting near 900 West and working west. Properties with more than one access will have one access closed while the other access is left open. Properties with only one access will be coordinated with the project team.

Ongoing Activities

Work continues on the center section of new bridge over the Jordan River along with installing new traffic signal poles and street lighting conduit.

Nearby residents and business may have an increase in noise, dust, and vibration as work takes place.

Traffic accessing the River Oaks Driving Range may only access the parking lot from eastbound 9000 South. Westbound traffic may only make a U-turn at 1300 West. See the detour map.

UTA Bus Route F590 - Due to construction activities, the bus stops within work areas may have temporary closures and stop adjustments.

Drivers should not drive into the work zone as hazards including significant drop-offs will be present. 


For safety, drivers should make legal U-turns at signalized intersections.

Pedestrians and bicycles are not allowed on 9000 South over the Jordan River. Please see the approved detour route for pedestrians and bicycles.

As a reminder, the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles per hour along the entire corridor.
