Construction Update

April 30, 2025

This is an infographic with information on what work has been completed and what remains.

Upcoming Activities

Driveways to businesses on the southside of 9000 South have been closed while crews prepare to repair the asphalt driveway approaches. On Saturday, May 3, crews will replace the asphalt for these business driveways. While the driveways are closed, use accesses on 1300 West, 1510 West, and Redwood Road as alternate accesses. The accesses should reopen by the end of the day on Saturday.

Overnight (8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. the following morning) Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16, crews will shift traffic on 9000 South to the center of 9000 South. This will allow crews to complete work on both shoulders of 9000 South. Please use caution and be prepared for changing traffic patterns.

As early as Sunday, May 18, crews will begin overnight work to install grooves into the asphalt for the permanent lane marking. Lane lines will included reflective tape to improve lane line visibility. This work will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following morning for two weeks (excluding weekends).

As early as Monday, May 19, crews will remove and replace the ADA pedestrian ramps on the north side of 9000 South 550 West and 650 West. Patrons and employees should access the businesses from 700 West. The closure will last up to two weeks.

As early as Monday, May 19, crews will remove the remaining old asphalt near the River Oaks Golf Course Driving Range on 9000 South requiring driveway access closures. Patrons to the driving range should park at the main clubhouse (9300 South Riverside Drive) for driving range access.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and material/equipment availability.

Ongoing Activities

700 West is open for NORTHBOUND traffic only between 8800 South and 9000 South. All southbound traffic is being detoured at Sandy Parkway. Local two-way traffic will be allowed between 8400 South and 8800 South.

Crews are installing an upgraded storm drain system, new asphalt, sidewalks, curb, and gutters.

700 West is scheduled to reopen for two-way traffic by May 16 with all work completed by the end of May.

Work continues to install curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the north side of 9000 South between the Utah Islamic Center and the Rocky Mountain Power substation.

Work continues on a Jordan Valley water line on the north side of 9000 South near the Jordan River.

The project is on schedule to be completed in July 2025.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and material/equipment availability.
