ARLINGTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CELEBRATES 2016 ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT THE 92ND ANNUAL MEETING
ARLINGTON, Va. - The Arlington Chamber of Commerce today held its 92nd Annual Meeting, which celebrated the Chamber's 2016 accomplishments and provided a preview of plans for 2017, with over 200  guests in attendance.

2016 Chair Todd Yeatts of The Boeing Company began the meeting by highlighting some of the Chamber's top achievements this year, including its impact on powerful role in leading business advocacy efforts, increase in membership, and launch of a new website. Incoming 2017 Chair Tina Walker of BAE Systems then spoke about continuing to build on the Chamber's growth and successes, and also introduced the 2017 Board of Directors. Walker also announced that Lindsey Rheaume of EagleBank will serve as the 2018 Chair of the Board of Directors.

"The 92nd Annual Meeting embodied the remarkable spirit of the Chamber, our members, and staff, whose hard work and support helped us to accomplish so much for the Arlington business community this year," said Chamber President & CEO Kate Bates. "We are so proud of the Chamber's many achievements during 2016, including leading the charge on the reinstatement of the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), which was signed into law this past March, to ensure that Arlington remains competitive in attracting travelers. We look forward to building off of these accomplishments as we move into a new year and prepare for a prosperous 2017."

The meeting also included the presentation of the 2016 Chair's Award to Crystal City Sports Pub, the 2016 President's Award to Todd Ihrig of H.D. Investment Services, and the 2016 Committee of the Year Award to the Community Action Committee. Victor Hoskins, the Director of Arlington Economic Development, delivered the keynote speech, which focused on working to unleash the potential of Arlington and surrounding areas, in order to boost the economy and set the region on the path towards a bright future.
