Imagine owning the first vintages of Beaux Freres or Domaine Serene at their original prices decades ago, which were a fraction versus now.

Drouhin Oregon Roserock is the newest chapter in the Drouhin story, extending from Burgundy's Cote d'Or and Chablis, to the Dundee Hills of Oregon, and now Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills. The Roserock Vineyard sits at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills, in Oregon's Willamette Valley, and is marked by ancient volcanic soils, an ideal elevation range and the unique cooling effect of the Van Duzer corridor. This allows the vineyard to produce classic cool-climate Pinot Noir; Roserock is LIVE-certified sustainable and is farmed by Phillipe Drouhin, fourth generation of this historic family. Wine Advocate's reviewer Erin Brooks asked assistant winemaker Arron Bell and managing director David Millman why they decided to create a new label for the vineyard, purchased in 2013. "The vineyard had its own personality," Millman said. "We didn't want to dilute the program of Domaine Drouhin Oregon by creating another single vineyard wine. So this is a companion to what we do. It felt like more than a single vineyard."

About Domaine Drouhin:

The Domaine Drouhin wines have received world-wide acclaim from the press and have garnered devoted fans throughout the years. Their Pinot Noir bottlings are frequently awarded "Outstanding" scores from the Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate critics. In the late 1800's the Drouhin business became one of the founding pillars of modern Burgundy. In 1987, the third generation Drouhin (Robert Drouhin) purchased property in the Dundee Hills of Oregon and established Domaine Drouhin Oregon. Now, the fourth generation has taken on this new project - in only a handful of vintages, these wines have made it on to Wine Spectator's Top 100 as well as James Suckling's Top 100 Wines of the year!

2021 Roserock Pinot Noir (Domaine Drouhin)

Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley

95 Points - International Wine Report:

"The 2021 Rose Rock Pinot Noir is a cuvée selection from the estate’s 35 blocks and then handpicked, sorted, and individually fermented. Presenting an eye-catching medium ruby-purple core with a neon red rim, it overflows with rich aromas of black cherry, macerated raspberry, toasted allspice, black tea, and a smooch of cherry cola. As you move to the palate, the wine is incredibly balanced, with no rough edges to speak of. Perfect levels of acidity, integrated smooth tannins, and an extraordinary mouthfeel are all present. It finishes long with rich red and blue fruits and exotic spices taking center stage."

94 Points - Wine Spectator:

"Graceful and precise, with dynamic cherry and red plum flavors highlighted by fresh violet and brown spices, which glide on the long, sleek finish toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2032." - Tim Fish (Jun 2023)

94 Points, Editor's Choice - Wine Enthusiast:

"Black currants and beignets kick off the aromatic festivities, with just a touch of leather and saline. The flavors are in layers, with rich blackberries on top of tart red cherries. The fine-grained tannins provide a rough mouth roof and a black tea flavor. The wine feels full and round in the mouth, with a nice bit of acidity. Elegance and power coexist here." - MA (Oct 2023)

93 Points - James Suckling:

"Bright and vibrant with savory notes, raspberries and dried wild strawberries, hints of chocolate orange and dried sage. So crunchy and fleshy on the palate with a medium body and round, creamy texture. Attractive, berry-soaked mid-palate with a toned and fresh finish. Drink or hold." (Mar 2023)

2021 Roserock 'Zéphirine' Pinot Noir (Domaine Drouhin)

Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley

97 Points - James Suckling:

"Beautifully fragrant notes of cocoa-dusted raspberries and crushed blueberries with dried rose petals, sencha tea, cherry chocolate and crushed rocks. Ground spices, too. It shows both delicacy and power, with a compact and silky feeling to the tannin structure and impressive acidity which carries the freshness and tone through to the finish. Attractive tension of crunchy blue fruit and spices. Drink or hold." (Mar 2023)

97 Points - International Wine Report:

"The RoseRock wines from Domain Drouhin have always been my favorites of the lineup, probably because I love the wines from the Eola-Amity hills. Displaying a shimmering light purple core with a bluish rim in the glass, this undoubtedly enchanting wine explodes with notes of fresh blueberries, red plum skin, toasted anise seed, milk chocolate, Earl Gray tea, whole pink peppercorn, and chalky minerality. Incredibly elegant and smooth on the palate, it’s a wine that takes hold of your attention and doesn’t let go. Highly recommended and editor’s choice." (Mar 2023)

96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:

Taking on more complexity, the 2021 Pinot Noir Rose Rock Zephirine was bottled unfined and unfiltered with 22 months of élevage. Ripe ruby-red, it offer layers of spice and ripe fruit, with loads of framboise, fresh pine needles, and toasted cardamom spice. On the palate. It’s full-bodied and refined with sweet tannins, balanced ripe fruit, and a soft, stony mouthfeel. Drink 2023-2033.

94 Points - Wine Spectator:

"Graceful and seductive, this Pinot is seamlessly structured, with rich raspberry and blueberry flavors and forest floor and violet accents all gliding on the polished, lingering finish. Drink now through 2031. 2,002 cases made." - TF (web only 2023)

2019 Roserock 'Zéphirine' Pinot Noir (Domaine Drouhin)

Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley

97 Points - Robert Parker:

"The 2019 Pinot Noir Zéphirine is so expressive this vintage! Matured for 14 months in 20% new oak, it has a pure fragrance of blueberries and lilac, aniseed and earth, gaining aromatic nuance and depth with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, the palate begins with bursts of acidity and a flourish of spices that glide seamlessly through the mouth for an incredibly persistent, floral finish." - EB (12/21)

97 Points - James Suckling:

Redcurrant, sour cherry and smoke on the nose. Hibiscus, too. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and lively acidity. Vibrant and juicy on the palate with a bright core of redcurrants and dried herbs. Layered and balanced, with a long, savory finish. Very vertical and deep." (7/21)

94 Points - Wine Spectator:

"A dynamic wine, impeccably structured and fleshy in texture, unfurling with raspberry, tart blueberry, stony minerals plus clove and other dusky spices. Finishes with snappy acidity and well-framed tannins. Drink now through 2030. 1,737 cases made." -TF (7/2022)
