One of our favorite Left Bank Bordeaux releases has finally landed from the Chateau. We've been on a personal mission chasing this vintage, so that we may offer it to collector's that missed it on release.

Getting perfectly stored bottles directly from the Chateau's cellar at the most competitive price is a wonderful opportunity for both Bordeaux connoisseurs and curious collector's alike.

The majestic Clos du Marquis red wine is produced by Chateau Leoville Las Cases in the Saint Julien appellation of France. It is considered to be on par with some of the region’s prestigious classified growths.

Created in 1902, the Clos du Marquis has its origins in the "Petit Clos" (enclosed garden) adjacent to the Château de Léoville, home of the Marquis de Las Cases.

Now, Marquis is "petit" no more — and no longer treated as the estate’s second wine since it is made with grapes from a separate vineyard.

It's very important that you see this neighborhood.

From the red star (you are here!) this wine is only 1.5 miles south from Pauillac's first-growth Chateau Latour, and recent 100pt Champs Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande + Baron.

It is 1.5 miles (or less) north of Leoville Barton and Ducru Beaucaillou.

"The 2015 Clos Du Marquis is gorgeous, but one of the more backward, closed wines in the vintage. Made from 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, aged in 50% new oak, it's deep purple color is followed by promising notes of blackcurrants, smoked earth, tobacco and lead pencil. With full-bodied richness, a ripe, concentrated, structured feel, and impressive length, I wouldn't touch bottles for at least 7-8 years, and it should last for two decades or more." (11/30/2017)
