The 970West Studio is now open for reservations.

Here are some of the ways we’re working to keep you safe: 

  • Only the Control Room is available for reservations at this time. This is to ensure adequate sanitation of gear and facilities.
  • The 970West Studio is allowing only one reservation per day.
  • There is a 4-person limit for all reservations. 
  • Masks are required per the state mandate except while recording vocals or on camera.
  • Technical assistance from studio staff is limited. This is to maintain six feet between people, per social distancing guidelines.
Studio hours of operation
The 970West Studio is open by appointment only during the following hours:
  • Monday – Thursday: Noon-7:30 p.m.
  • Friday: Noon-4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Studio users must meet the following requirements to make a reservation:
  • Attend a studio orientation.
  • We are currently offering orientations online. Visit the virtual 970West Studio Orientation page.
  • Be a resident of Mesa County.
  • Have a Mesa County Libraries account in good standing (owe less than $10 in charges).
  • Library account information must be current.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Enjoy crafting a Take and Make from
970West Artist in Residence Rebecca Woods
970West Artist in Residence Rebecca Woods is offering a fun and fascinating Take and Make for grown-ups: Make a shadow box!

Transform plain paper into beautiful three-dimensional scenery that effortlessly explodes with life with the simple addition of light.

Here's how you can take part in this exciting Take and Make, including insight from Woods.

  • Pick up a kit ahead of time – Take and Makes will be available at all locations beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, while supplies last.
  • Watch the video tutorial on our YouTube channel at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 24.
  • Join Woods via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. March 24 after the video premiere to create your shadow box and tunnel books with guidance from the artist!

When you record music in the 970West Studio, you'll have access to a digital audio workstation that runs Logic Pro X, versatile sound-editing software that gives you infinite ways to manipulate your sound. This article gives you some tips on how to get the most from Logic Pro X.

As is the case with most digital audio workstations, there are multiple ways to achieve particular sounds and beats. We at the 970West Studio want to bring you all of the nifty tips and tricks that you can add to your workflow so that your sounds are both unique and easy to use.
