2022 RAEN "Royal St. Robert Cuvee" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
In Honor of their late Grandfather Robert Mondavi
94 Points - Vinous:
"The 2022 Pinot Noir Royal St. Robert is striking. Vibrant and savory, the 2022 marries notable fruit intensity with strong floral, earthy and savory top notes. Bright red-toned fruit, orange peel, cinnamon, star anise and cedar lift from the glass. Deep and dense, yet also wonderfully crystalline, the 2022 is lights out. What a wine. Drink 2025-2037." -Antonio Galloni (1/24)
97-98 Points - James Suckling (2021 vintage):
Extremely spicy with iron, forest flower, black tea, and dried strawberry aromas, following through to a medium to full body, with lovely velvety tannins that are integrated and refined, with a long and flavorful finish. Yet it always remains refined and poised in a exemplary way. Needs three or four years still to show it’s true self. Drink or hold.
96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck (2021 vintage):
The medium ruby 2021 Pinot Noir Royal St. Robert is expressive with layers of spice, wild raspberry, and wild herbs, as well as anise, beetroot, and rhubarb. Medium-bodied, it continues to unfold in the glass, offering fine tannins and fresh, seamless acidity, with notes of cinnamon stick and ripe raspberry. This is a gorgeous wine with a soft mineral texture and a lot of elegance. Drink 2024-2034."
95 Points, Rank #4 Top 100 of 2023 - Wine Spectator (2021 vintage):
Beautifully defined, with pinpoint damson plum, mulberry and blood orange notes stretched out over a frame of rooibos tea and savory accents. Mouthwatering through the lengthy, unadorned finish, which relies on tension and purity. Drink now through 2032. 2,075 cases made.
