Dear Artisans,

First, let's all wish our beloved Christine Tran a Happy Birthday!!

Second, it's already the last call for the most exciting American Syrah we've tasted this year:
"David Ramey doesn't get anywhere near the attention he deserves. Today, it seems the focus is on extremes as the wine world is increasingly about a polarization of so-called 'very ripe' wines versus the more 'restrained' style. Ramey's wines are neither, but rather bring together the best of both schools of thought."
- Antonio Galloni on Ramey

I blind tasted a collector of Cult Syrah, both American and French such as Cayuse, Alban, Cornas and Hermitage, and he said this was around $100 in quality. I agreed.

This is a glorious red for both Old and New World wine lovers. David Ramey delivers a Côte Rôtie-taste-alike, and we deliver an absurdly low price.

This floods your mouth, in the most elegant and sophisticated way, with waves of bacon fat, pretty floral notes, supple blackberry and raspberry fruit.

What's most mind-bending is how this is simultaneously rich and luscious while being fine, pure, and delicate. The 8% Viognier does wonders. Enjoy it now through 2035, easily.
2018 Ramey Sonoma Coast Syrah
14.5% ABV

98 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This is an outstanding vintage of this wine: sinewy and seductive in black pepper, garrigue and brooding black fruit. Made from grapes grown at both Cole Creek Vineyard and Rodgers Creek, it is sublime in texture and complex in structure, with lasting layers of smoked meat, citrus and olive." -VB (3/22)
