Dear Mercy 9th Grade Parents/Guardians,
We are excited for your student to participate in The 9th Grade Day of Love and Diversity on Wednesday, October 22, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Students should arrive at the McAuley Academic Center at 7:50 a.m. for attendance and a prompt start. They may dress comfortably; this includes jeans, sweats, pajama bottoms, and even leggings/yoga pants (with a long top). Students should also wear comfortable walking shoes and layers for the weather.
During the day’s agenda, all 9th-grade students will attend a workshop facilitated by One Love that focuses on healthy relationships, followed by our annual Diversity Retreat facilitated by Mrs. Traci Smith (Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) and Senior Human Relations Council Representatives. In addition, students will walk next door to the Costick Center to learn more about our emergency safety procedures.
Light refreshments will be available, however, the cafeteria will be closed, so your student may want to bring a bagged lunch and water bottle. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Buses will depart at 2:50pm as usual. The building will remain open for students to wait for their ride.
We are looking forward to seeing all of your Marlins for this special day designed specifically for our 9th graders!
Thank you!
