Dear 9th Graders and Families,

Student-Led Conferences (SLCs) at AHS are designed to help students reflect on their learning and growth while practicing important communication skills. Generally, SLCs take place on campus over the course of one afternoon, with parents in attendance and all students leading individual conversations while teachers observe and offer support. This fall, however, due to social-distancing practices, we will schedule meetings with only select families individually and virtually to check in with students who are struggling to meet expectations or who have recently joined our school community.

All 9th grade students will have an opportunity to reflect on their academic and social journey October 12 and 13 in their Humanities class. This will ensure all students have the opportunity to reflect in a meaningful way about their education and their role in it.

For 9th graders, SLCs will happen on Thursday October 15 between 8am and 4pm, unless that time frame doesn't work for a particular family.

There will be no regularly scheduled online class meetings on that Thursday so that teachers on the 9th grade team can meet with families.

Students will still be expected to attend Math and Biology on Friday, Oct 16. However, there will be an altered schedule for that date: all 9th grade students will attend Math from 9:00am until 10:30am and Biology from 10:45am - 12:15pm.

Please reach out to your student's Flock Leader with any questions!
