Curves, angles, mixed materials make for engineering triumph

This 43-foot curved table, designed by AECOM, is a marvel in complexity and beauty. And it was just one part of this WallGoldfinger project for a major military base.

Gray, you say?

A New York company chose Summit tables in beautiful veneer to form a large, 40-foot boardroom table.

A bustling marketplace

CEO John Wall takes a look at WallGoldfinger's current work and sees a nice division across the company's sales territories.

New faces in D.C.

WallGoldfinger's D.C. sales representative group, Design Products Inc., has undergone a merger resulting in an expanded team.

Found in Western and Middle Africa from Sierra Leone to Gabon, makore veneer is also called African cherry. It comes from trees 180- to 200-feet tall with 4- to 6-foot trunk diameters. Heartwood is pink or reddish brown, sometimes with streaks of mild color variation. Makore is often a fine, straight grain wood but interlocked grain is common forming beautiful figure and curling.

Here we show fiddleback (top left), pommele rotary cut (top right), quartered figured (bottom left) and block mottled makore (bottom right).

Could diverse makore bring some life to your next project?

From the heart

Woodworkers Gary Blatz (right) and Eric Hord along with CEO John Wall volunteered their time after work on a recent Friday to help a local Girl Scout troop build pinewood derby cars for an upcoming competition. The girls learned a bit of woodworking, made some cool cars and had lots of fun. Can we get a collective, awww!

Summit bridge
Summits have been used in every room from the café to the boardroom. One unique use is the Summit bridge design, which places Summits between two fixed tables. One fixed tabletop slides a couple of inches to access the Summits. Move the Summits to engage an operable wall and create two meeting spaces or leave the Summits in place for one long meeting table fit for the boardroom. The Summit bridge
