North Royalton High School Construction Project Completed
The North Royalton High School project is complete after a three year transformation of the entire campus. The community was invited to attend a grand opening with self-guided tours on December 22.
Last spring, additional phases of interior renovations were completed and turned over to the District. This includes the new first and second floor humanities wing housing social studies, English, and world language classrooms along with centralized hub areas and a humanities teacher hub. Existing interior walls were replaced with new metal studs, drywall and finishes creating an improved learning environment while decreasing the sound transmission from room to room. Classrooms and adjacent spaces were modified to create large openings to the new hub areas and allow for installation of new electrical power/lighting and HVAC services.
The abatement and demolition of the front portions of the high school is complete. The two-story 300/400 section and Gymnasium 1 were all demolished over the summer making way for the new student parking lot and revealing the new façade to North Royalton High School. New roof, brick veneer, metal panels and curtain wall were installed to tie-in the existing portions of the building with the new addition and continuing the designed look of blending the old with the new. Additional improvements include landscaping, site lighting, concrete walks, a main entry courtyard, parking lots and drives. Finally, the last phase of interior renovations to the art, music, family consumer science and community room were completed at the end of October.
With the completion of these final phases of renovations and site development, the District has regained use of the entire building, including the centralized new main entrance. Students are once again able to park on campus as well.
“Thank you to our taxpayers. Without their support for education and what we do, this would not be possible,” said Superintendent Michael Laub, North Royalton City Schools. “I couldn't be more excited about these new learning spaces for our students and staff.”

North Royalton Middle School Tailgates Highlighted at January Board Meeting
For more than 10 years, North Royalton Middle School (NRMS) has hosted a fall and winter tailgate event. The eighth-grade football team and cheerleaders play and perform in Serpentini Stadium in front of over 700 cheering students. Both the eighth-grade boys and girls basketball teams along with the cheerleaders compete and perform in front of a packed house as well. Prior to the games, students have the opportunity to enjoy each other's company while a DJ plays music, high school Key Club students paint faces, and pick up games of football and basketball are played. "They certainly are fun events for our kids, but what is most noteworthy about the tailgates is the simple fact that hundreds of students are participating in school-sponsored activity and finding a way to connect with each other," said Principal Jeff Cicerchi. "These types of opportunities are what makes NRMS a special place for kids."

"It's one of the best days of the year for all of us, as it kicks the holiday season off with the opportunity for all to make a difference in the lives of others in our community," said teacher Amy Purnell. "The ability for our students and staff to give back to our school community and its students and families speaks volumes about the caring nature of everyone here at North Royalton Middle School," said Principal Jeff Cicerchi. "I have no doubt that everyone's generosity put a few extra smiles on our kids' faces this holiday season."

North Royalton High School Students Lend a Hand
By Anastasiya Haydash, North Royalton High School Student Reporter
During this past holiday season, not everyone was able to put food on the table, especially this year due to the loss of jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is why North Royalton High School does annual food drives to collect canned goods for people in need. The collected food is then given to less fortunate people, to help them have some food during the holidays.
