Daycare Owner Pleads Guilty in Baby's Death
 
A former operator of a Clairemont daycare facility pleaded guilty Wednesday to shaking an 11-month-old boy to death. James Patrick Nemeth, 39, is expected to be sentenced next month to 29 years and eight months in state prison.
Deputy District Attorney Nicole Rooney prosecuted this case.

Navy Corpsman Accused of Killing Girlfriend's Son
 
A Navy corpsman was in court Tuesday facing murder and child abuse charges for the death of his girlfriend's 19-month-old son. Brett Brown faces 25 years-to-life in prison if convicted.

'Don't Get Hooked' Event for Seniors

San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob is leading a special forum on February 11 to educate seniors and caregivers on how to avoid financial scammers and other crooks.
