Dear Friends:

In the world of horse racing, where unpredictability and competition are constant companions, it's important to remember that even in the face of uncertainty, God remains our ultimate source of help and guidance.

Just like the disciples in the boat who faced the storm with fear, we may experience moments of apprehension and doubt. However, amidst the clamor of the racetrack or life we can turn to God for strength and reassurance.

In Psalm 121:1-2, we read, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and earth." 

As we face the challenges, we can lift our gaze to God, acknowledging that our help and guidance come from Him alone.

Just as God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous, He calls upon those involved in the horse racing industry to be brave and steadfast. 

In Joshua 1:9, God declares, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." 

God's presence accompanies us instilling courage and perseverance in our hearts.

Trusting in God is crucial. We must learn to rely on His wisdom and guidance in every aspect of our lives and any involvement in the horse racing industry.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, as we navigate the world of horse racing, we recognize that it can be a challenging and uncertain journey. Grant us the courage to trust in You, knowing that You are our ultimate source of help and strength. Help us to rely on Your guidance and wisdom as we make decisions and face the ups and downs of this industry. May we find solace in Your presence and may the horses and those involved experience the protection and peace that comes from placing our trust in You. In your name, we pray. Amen

The NY Race Track Chaplaincy, for over a decade, has provided a Summer Enrichment Program in Saratoga in order to keep Saratoga families together during the racing season and give the children an opportunity to experience a summer that some have never had before; away from the city and the track.
