New Website Launch with Special Offer
|
We are in the aftermath of emotional turmoil and great losses from the wildfires that raged here in the Pacific Northwest over the last several days. I thought something upbeat might be welcomed. So, here it is, a bit of happy news to share with you from my Down to Earth Studio. Maybe this newsletter will somehow help you keep your heart open to possibility.
My first news is that my new website is finished. It's a simpler, more streamlined look that features the golden crack lines of my Grandmother Kintsugi Bowl on the home page.
As part of my new website launch, I am offering a special drawing for this art piece: Woman on Fire: Phoenix Rising. There is more information about how to enter to win in the next section of this newsletter.
The second announcement is that one of my art pieces, Land Kintsugi #6, Earth, My Body, was accepted into an online show titled: The Art of Perseverence 2020, an exhibit featured by Elise Wagner Fine Art LLC. This amazing exhibition weaves a collective narrative among the artists selected from throughout the United States and beyond. Each artist brings the story of their creative perseverance through this unprecedented time. The quality, diversity, titles and stories behind the work in this exhibition,as you will see in the video, is beautiful and moving. I hope you enjoy this unique glimpse into the collective psyche and mindset of artists as we adapt and integrate ourselves into this new world.

A Wild Love for the World
Your SoulCollage® Visual World Love Story
GG's Virtual Down to Earth Studio First 4 Sundays in November 1 - 22, 2020 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Pacific Time Come join me for a SoulCollage(r) series to deepen our ability to be present with what it means to be human at this moment in time. Like you, I am heartbroken over the recent fires and the great losses we are experiencing right now. I want to use my creativity to express my own wild love for the world, even the parts that have been destroyed, the parts that are now ugly and revaged. Creative expression is how I keep my heart open. How about you?
This series is inspired by Joanna Macy's book: A Wild Love for The World. An activist, author, and scholar of Buddhism, Joanna is a beloved mentor and teacher. Her words of wisdom that we are at a pivotal moment in history with the possibility to unravel or create a life-sustaining human society, have impacted me quite deeply.
You do not need to be experienced in SoulCollage(r) to participate in this series. We will come together in community to strengthen our resililence and support our and other's creativity and story. The imagery of SoulCollage(r) will help us express our relationship to topics like: For the Love of Gaia, Being Time and Deep Time, Transform Yourself, Transform the World, and Healing Our Broken World.
Here is a link to an interview with Joanna about her life and this book featured on the program On Being

Do you hold a mystery deep within that wants to be seen and known?
Is there an ancestor on the other side who wants to tell you something?
Can you transcend the logic mind and open to another way of knowing?
"There are truths that lie beneath our consciousness, just as there are truths that lie beneath our feet. That we do not know them does not mean they do not exist, only that we may not have the patience and humility to hear."

Sliding scale: $15.00 to $25.00 (Venmo [Glenda-Goodrich] Paypal [glendaanne@msn.com], or personal check to 240 Bush Street S., Salem, OR 97302)
