A Boaters' Review on the New Docks

Dear Dana Point Boater,

A Boaters' Review on the New Docks

We love when boaters share their thoughts, good or not-so-good, on what is happening in the harbor. Recently a boater, who has asked to remain anonymous, shared their assessment of the new docks. Click here to read the review. In our opinion, it is well written and thoughtful.

Please be sure to share your comments with us so we can share them with the larger Dana Point community. Please continue to engage with your boat neighbors and encourage anyone who hasn’t signed up for our newsletter to please do so at danapointboaters.org. We are all in this together; let’s continue to stand united. Purchase a flag and fly it proudly on your boat!

Concerning the Dana Point Marina debacle, an Orange County boater recently commented to me that the three harbors in Orange County have clear delineation. “Newport Harbor is the gentrified harbor, Huntington Harbor is the residential harbor, and Dana Point Harbor is the public harbor for the small boater.” Dana Point does not need to be gentrified.

BREAKING NEWS!

Thank you, @SupervisorFoley; To improve transparency and oversight over the redevelopment of Dana Point Harbor, Orange County Fifth District Board Supervisor Katrina Foley announced plans to create a harbor advisory committee during the Dana Point Civic Association’s monthly Coffee Chat on Friday, March 17.

The harbor advisory committee would comprise Foley and stakeholders such as a large and small merchant, a boater, two members of the public, ad hoc members including the Dana Point Harbor Partners, CEO Real Estate, and a representative from public safety, according to Foley’s office. @DanaPointTimes
