Where's Federico Flying this Week?

After a recent inquiry as to my heritage, I feel it necessary to share a bit about the old bird who pens you a message every now and again, but if these missives have taught me anything, it’s that words can do the real thing no justice. So without further ado: as close as we can get to my childhood home without the predators.

Much like how I was born (laid) in a cozy nest perched atop a hill, the Cahuenga Pass Boathouses are perched atop the Hollywood Hills, and carry an equal weightlessness. Architect Harry Gesner’s 1959 Mid-century Modern masterpiece juts out from its steep bluff and maintains a beautiful — almost ornithological — balance thanks to its supporting stilts — not UNLIKE mine own supporting stilts! The cabin coziness continues inside with vaulted ceilings that emphasize the simple A-Frame and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame a panorama as breathtaking as my first glimpses outside the egg.

When you’re high atop the Hills taking in the horizon, perhaps you’ll see me there and strike up a conversation — we are friends of a feather, after all!
