We've made two exciting expansions to the middle school curriculum. First, all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will have an extra STEAM workshop weekly (in addition to their regularly scheduled science classes). Under the guidance of STEAM coordinator, Mrs. Kellee Fries, the 8th graders are currently researching waterproof roofs and preparing bids as part of their first engineering-focused STEAM project of the year. Sixty (60) new Chrome Books for use by the students enhance these STEAM opportunities as well.
Also - all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders currently have a 2 hour block of ELA class daily, allowing for enhanced language arts experiences. Recently, Mrs. Jackie Hearing converted her classroom into the "ELA Cafe" and created a "Book Tasting" in which the students got to "sample" different genres and different books (alongside some tasty snacks!)
