This is one of my most beloved pieces of music. It is emotionally demanding to play, although not very difficult technically. I played it with the love of my life, my husband, until the last days of his life. - Pat Bohn

Pat Bohn’s relationship with music was a foundation for her life. It led her to a relationship with Loretta during the initial phase of the organization. It introduced countless young musicians to her kind and generous counsel when she hosted them in her home.

My personal favorite anecdote about Pat? The story of her music and her love: as a young student of Leon Fleischer’s, one day she was practicing for a recital. Open cracks the door, and in peeks a young doctor, wondering who is playing so exquisitely. He takes one look at the striking young woman and asks her this very important question: Would you like to play some piano duets with me?

They were married for over 65 years until his death last year at the age of 94. Pat still has two beautiful grand pianos in her home. Now she plays with friends, and still offers her wise counsel to us at the Dranoff, on whose board she and Richard sat for over a decade.
