Heavenly Father,
As we step into this spectacular season of racing, we seek your shield of safety over this Breeders' Cup Weekend and all who have gathered for it from around the world.
Protect the horses, jockeys, grooms, hotwalkers, exercise riders, trainers, owners, and front-side staff, and guard us all from harm.
Watch over the horses in each race: keep them sound in body and steady in stride, and bring every rider and every horse safely home.
Guide the decisions made during this weekend by officials, staff, and all who serve behind the scenes, and let everything unfold smoothly under your direction. Shield us from temptation and anything that seeks to pull us away from You.
Protect our loved ones, near and far, with your peace and guidance, keeping us safe in your care.
Thank You, Lord, for being our refuge and our strength.
Amen.
